In the recent birthday celebration of the Superstar Nora Aunor, courtesy of TV5 last May 21  at the Meralco Multi-purpose Hall in Ortigas, TV5 Business Unit Head JoAnn Banaga and directorJoel Lamangan announced that Nora and Tirso Cruz III also known as Guy & Pip will be reunited again in the said TV5 project.

 

Guy & Pip will be joined by Kapatid network's hottest stars Marvin Agustin, Nadine Samonte, Karel Marquez, and Akihiro Blanco.

Willie Revillame will not renew "Wowowillie" contract, TV5 responds!

A few days ago rumor has it that TV5 declined to renew Willie Revillame's contract with them since he allegedly demanded a hefty sum of money for the renewal!

And now, Willie shoots down the rumor by saying he is no longer renewing his contract for "Wowowillie" with the Kapatid network.

This is what Willie said:

"Ang last day of my contract ay October 15. Maybe October 12 will be the last show ng Wowowillie."

Willie said that he will be taking a break from his showbiz commitments for a few months, a year, or even longer:

“So, hindi po para malungkot. Ganyan talaga ang buhay. Kasi kailangan ko rin ng time."

Willie also revealed that he submitted a resignation letter last May 17:

"Yun lang po para matapos na ang haka-haka."

TV5 released the following statement on his resignation:

"We respect the decision of Mr. Willie Revillame to retire upon the expiry of his contract with TV5. We wish him well in his new pursuits."

'Wowowillie" is under 3-month probation by MTRCB!

Willie Revillame‘s noontime show “Wowowillie” was placed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) under a three-month probation over skimpy outfits of its dancers.

MTRCB also subjected the TV5 noontime show to a Strong Parental Guidance (SPG) classification effective immediately.

Here is the statement released by MTRCB on Monday, April 22:

“At today’s hearing conducted by the MTRCB’s Ad Hoc Committee on the skimpy outfits and excessive flesh exposure in Wowowillie’s 16 April 2013 & other episodes, TV5 and the said show accepted responsibility for the said lapses and apologized to the MTRCB.”

“The MTRCB, through the panel, ordered placing the program under probation, subjecting it to per-episode review for 3 months, and subjecting it to an SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) rating effective immediately. Tv5 and Wowowillie were further required to submit reform and self-regulatory measures by 06 May 2013.”

After establishing a name in both Kapamilya and Kapuso drama series, Eula Valdez recently turned Kapatid to star in her first fantaserye where she is required to perform action scenes and stunts.

Eula recently signed a 1-year exclusive TV5 contract and will soon hit the small tube as Eula Caballero's mother in the upcoming supernatural drama series, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel”.

In the series, the award-winning seasoned actress portrays the role of Larissa, a mother in search of her identity and a “babaylan” (an indigenous Filipina religious leader) who has turned to the dark side.

Premieres May 6 on TV5, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel” also stars Gabby Concepcion, William Martinez, Pen Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Art Acuña, Vangie Labalan, Victor Silayan, Albie Casino and JC de Vera.

TV5 features Marvel Superheroes this April!

TV5 celebrates all things Marvel with a fun, fresh string of animated and live-action features starting Monday, April 15.

The Kapatid Network is sharing some of the most exciting Marvel features with Pinoy TV viewers in the lead up to the premiere of Iron Man 3.

Kids better brace for a different kind of excitement every weekday as TV5 showcases action-packed Tagalized animated movies inspired by Marvel’s best-selling books, The Ultimates. Young Kapatid viewers can look forward to watching Planet Hulk on April 16, Doctor Strange on April 17, Thor: Tales of Asgard on April 18 and Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther on April 19. Next week, the following Marvel animated movies will also be shown on TV5: Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (April 22), Hulk vs Thor and Wolverine (April 23) and The Invincible Iron Man (April 24). Amy Perez returns to “Face to Face” on 3rd Anniversary Special in a new afternoon time slot on April 8!

Dubbed as the first “barangay hall on-air,” TV5′s “Face to Face” enters its fourth year with must-watch week-long anniversary episodes running next week (April 8 to 12) on its new 4:30pm timeslot.

When the pioneering talak-serye started airing three years ago, TV5 pitted the fledgling program against strong competition in the morning timeslot. Since then, Face to Face has become one of the most-watched and controversial daytime programs on Philippine TV.

Starting Monday (April 8), Face to Face will showcase a series of special episodes that feature the next talk-of-the-town stories, major confrontations and tear-jerking revelations-all in one week.

TV5’s ground-breaking reality singing search Kanta Pilipinas finally announced its first grand winner – Chadleen Lacdo-O — last Sunday, March 24.

This Cebuana diva is proud to take home the grand prize of PhP 1M cash, a recording contract and a management contract under TV5.

From the 24 hopefuls who came from different provinces across the country, 12 voices stood out to form Kanta Pilipinas’ roster of finalists. The competition got more intense as the 12 finalists were trimmed down to the Top 8. TV5 doubles the weekend excitement with "Pinoy Explorer" and "Kanta Pilipinas"!

Another fun weekend awaits Pinoy TV viewers with twice the excitement and thrill on TV5’s Pinoy Explorer and Kanta Pilipinas.

Adam Sandler Leads this Week’s Sine Ko 5ingko Stars!

More and more big Hollywood A-listers are going Kapatid with TV5’s Sine Ko 5ingko’s string of certified blockbusters.

In its first two weeks, TV5 featured film hits starring action heroes Liam Neeson and Christian Bale, as well as witty onscreen charmers Robert Downey, Jr. and Hugh Jackman. Oscar winners Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and Adrien Brody also graced the Filipino small screen through Sine Ko 5ingko with their performances on Hancock, Swordfish and King Kong, respectively.

Whoever thought it was impossible to bring together in ONE Filipino television channel will be in for a treat as TV5 continues to deliver some of the most popular movies every day of the week. TV5 posts wins vs GMA during weekends, gains ground among young viewers in Metro davao!

Metro Davao is one of the most vital and viewer-rich metro cities in the country with over 850,000 potential viewers inhabiting. Therefore, it is no wonder why TV5 takes its numbers victory seriously. From January to February this year, TV5 took the number two spot from GMA in the all-day (2am to 2am) weekend ratings with 22.1% audience share, six points higher than GMA’s 16.3%. This is consistent with TV5’s impressive performance in the last quarter of 2012 as Nielsen TV Audience Measurement’s all-week data showed that TV5 ended at 20% audience share, largely gaining from the continuously-eroding GMA viewership in the area.

TV5 has also proven to be the network-of-choice among Metro Davao’s youth during daytime weekends according to Nielsen Media TAM, Arianna. During the first two weeks of the year, TV5 posted 6.1% AMR among kids and teens which beat GMA’s 2.7%. Putting these numbers into context, kids (aged 2-12) and teens (aged 13-19) comprise 34.4% and 12.2% of Metro Davao’s daytime viewership on weekends.

In the same period, the Kapatid Network also got ahead of GMA during the weekend primetime (6PM to 10PM) slot among kids (7.1% AMR), male adults aged 40 years old and above (9.1% AMR) and housewives (7.9% AMR). Collectively, the first two viewer segments comprise 49% of Davao’s weekend primetime viewership, while housewives make up 24.6%.

Kidlat is proven another hit in Metro Davao as far as its two-month performance is concerned. From January to February, the Derek Ramsay-starrer has beaten at least six Kapuso primetime programs including Temptation of Wife, 24 Oras, Indio, Paroa: Ang Kwento ni Mariposa, Forever and Pahiram ng Sandali.

On the other hand, TV5’s news programs have proven to be at par with those of GMA during weekdays but more viewers are tuned in to the Kapatid newscast during weekends. From January 1 to March 2 of this year, Aksyon posted 4% AMR—the same as that of GMA’s 24 Oras. The same goes for TV5 Davao’s local news alerts Aksyon Alerto, which posted the same 4% AMR as GMA’s Flash Bulletin. However, over 35,000 absolute viewers tuned in to Aksyon Weekend to beat 24 Oras Weekend’s 23,557 during the same period.

TV5 thanks Davaoeños for high ratings at 76th Araw ng Dabaw!

DAVAO CITY, Philippines, March 16, 2013— Kapatid stars flying in to the city for the 2013 Araw ng Dabaw should brace themselves for droves of fans and supporters as TV5 continues to solidify its position in Mindanao’s premier broadcast market.

Kidlat lead star Derek Ramsay joins the other cast members of the TV5 top-rating series — leading ladies Nadine Samonte and Ritz Azul and Wendell Ramos — for an eventful day coinciding with one of the Southern Philippines’ most anticipated festivals. Never Say Goodbye’s Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert, one of today’s most popular love teams, are also part of the Kapatid contingent in the city — much to the excitement of their Davaoeño fans. The “Go5! Live sa Araw ng Dabaw” event is TV5’s way of thanking Davaoeños for patronizing TV5 programs and personalities.

At 3:00PM, the cast of Kidlat invades Davao’s Abreeza Mall for a fun show packed with games and prizes. Fans will also get the chance to meet the show’s stars up close. After opening with a double monster-feature weekend, TV5’s Sine Ko 5ingko celebrates heroes with the blockbusters showing on March 16 and 17.

These certified Hollywood hits will surely set TVs ablaze with the heart-pumping action and high-flying stunts.

On Saturday (March 16), join the sassy trio that make up Charlie’s Angels at 2:30PM. In this big-screen adaptation of the popular 70s television show, Natalie, Alex and Dylan are faced with the ultimate task—saving their boss from a vengeful tech genius. At 4:30PM, Milla Jovovich finds herself protecting a young boy thought to be the cure for a genetic mutation in Ultraviolet. This high-charged film features scenes that will stimulate all senses.

Sunday (March 17) also promises to be packed with just as much hero action with Hancock, Hellboy: The Golden Army and The Dark Knight. TV5 wins big at 48th Annual Anvil Awards!

TV5 was honored during the recently concluded 48th Annual Anvil Awards held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The Kapatid Network received three Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), highlighting TV5’s excellence in public relations and communications for the following campaigns: #AskMsWorldPH (under the Public Relations Tools – Social Media Campaign category), InterAksyon: The TV5 Online News Portal (under Public Relations Tools – Website Design category), and Rescue5 (under the PR Programs directed at Specific Stakeholders/Special Interest Groups category).

TV5’s Anvil Awards this year mark significant milestones for the Kapatid Network. For one, this is the second time that InterAksyon has received the Anvil Award of Excellence from the prestigious award-giving body. The #AskMsWorldPH campaign, which bagged the Anvil Award of Merit, also made waves as it was the first time the Kapatid Network crowdsourced questions for the pageant finalists. Last year marked a turning point in the pageant’s history as it was also the first time that Miss World Philippines leveraged social media to elicit audience interest and participation.

RESCUE5 was also recognized during the Awarding Ceremonies, bagging an Anvil Award of Excellence for its efforts in community management during emergencies and disasters. OMG: Video before Tulfo VS Claudine, Raymart brawl ensued surfaces!

A video released by TV5 from unknown source, surfaced and it shows who really started the fight between Mon Tulfo VS Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto!

The video shows that  a certain guy in pink shirt which allegedly belongs to the actor's camp on May 6 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.The guy hit Tulfo in the head with his left hand while the three well-known personalities are talking - a scene that entails Tulfo was not the one who started the fight nor kicked the actress in the legs as what they claimed.

David Archuleta thanked Philippines and will miss his stay here in the country!

David Archuleta made his last performance memorable during his launch as the Bench endorser of Bench Fix!

During his launch at the Trinoma Activity Center, David was very thankful to his fans for his wonderful stay here in the country.

He became an actor for TV5's Nandito Sako which is going to premiere tonight on primetime after WilTime Bigtime.

And before he left the Philippines he mase a video vlog and thanked his fans and all the people he maet along his journey here in the Philippines.
