Wil Time Bigtime newest millionaire is Marvin Bedonia and his family!

TV5’s Wil Time Bigtime fulfilled another Filipino dream after a farmer from Mexico, Pampanga won no less than P3.5 million worth of prizes last July 26.

For farmer Marvin Bedonia, owning a house and lot, a van and a million cash was far from reality, especially since a hard day's work in the rice fields used to entitle him to a measly take-home amount of P210 each day. But through his sheer determination to win the mega jackpot round, he proved the impossible is possible on the people’s show.


Marvin sets the record as the second Wil Time Bigtime mega jackpot winner -- next to Joseph “Nonoy” Murillo, a 20-year old gardener and service crew from Paranaque City.

“Si Marvin po ang second winner [sa mega jackpot]. Mga pangarap na tinutupad ng TV5 at ng Wil Time Bigtime. Dahil ang programang ito para sa mga mahihirap, sa mga nangangarap na akala nila ay hindi matutupad [Marvin is the second mega jackpot winner. Because this program is for the poor, we want them to know---those who think dreams can’t come true, that Marvin is their best proof],” said host Willie Revillame.

Meanwhile, in what could be the most heart-wrenching but inspiring episode of Wil Time Bigtime yet, six scavengers’ children aged 8 to 10 made the studio audience and household viewers cry unabashedly with their touching stories of struggles and triumphs last July 16.

A life dependent on a mountain of garbage was never a hindrance for the six to become responsible. Take for example Neneng, whose proud father showed his achiever-daughter’s academic medals. “Mary Ann, kahit ako ganito, nagpapasalamat ako sa nasa taas dahil binigyan niya ko ng anak ng matawag na gifted child. Yung mababa nating buhay itinataas mo [Even though I’m like this, I thank God for giving me a gifted child like you. You help uplift our humble life],” said the father of Neneng’s achievements in school.

To which she replied, “Pa, kahit nagbabasura ka mahal pa rin kita[ I love you, dad, even though you’re a scavenger].”

Together with the kids, Kuya Wil dedicated one of his signature songs, “Munting Huling,” composed by Vehnee Saturno to every child who dreams for a better future despite a bleak present. “Eto ang mukha ng paghihirap. Para sa mga basurero at basurero, ang inyong munting hiling matutupad na [This is the face of poverty. To you scavengers, you’re humble wish will come true],” he said.

Right there and then, Wil Time Bigtime modified the segment into “Pera o Basura” to accommodate all the six to play for the mega jackpot round. Until the very end, the six scavengers’ children didn’t back down and still opted for ‘basura’ over P300,000. Asked why they chose the trash bin which was loaded an uncertain amount of money, Cathy candidly replied, “Dun po ‘ko lumaki."

In the end, the bin contained P600,000, with each child taking home P100,000.

Cheers and hopes continue to shower on Wil Time Bigtime every night (Monday to Friday) at 6:30pm and on Saturdays at 5pm only on TV5.
