Sam Milby and Jessy Mendiola in MMK this Saturday!

Before he finally flies to the US to pursue his 'Hollywood dream,' Sam Milby delights his fans with a special “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode this Saturday (February 4), where he will co-star with Jessy Mendiola.

Milby and Mendiola will portray the roles of Nono and Joie, bestfriends who eventually became lovers. But their happiness will be cut short when both their parents did not support their relationship. But Nono stepped out and proved his love for Joie, making Joie faced her fear and believed with everything Nono had promised.

Also starring in the MMK episode are Mickey Ferriols, Lito Pimintel, Aldred Gatchalian, Lauren Uy, Beauty Gonzales, Hiyasmin Neri, Hermes Bautista, Gileth Sandico, and William Lorenzo. It was researched by Alex Martin, written by Joan Habana, and directed by Raz Dela Torre.

Robin Padilla and Vina Morales Reunite in ‘MMK’ this Saturday!

Nearly 20 years since their last project together, Robin and Vina rekindle on-screen romance in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” this Saturday.

After two decades since their last movie together, Robin Padilla and Vina Morales are reunited this Saturday (November 12) in a special ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ (MMK) episode as part of the drama anthology’s 20th anniversary celebration. The said MMK episode is Robin and Vina’s first team-up on the small screen, making it more memorable for the two Kapamilya stars.

This week’s episode will feature the life story of an inmate of the New Bilibid Prison named Willie, played by Robin, who spent most of his life outside prison running away from the authorities; and what he and his wife, played by Vina, had to went through while he was running away from the authorities.

In an interview, both Robin and Vina admitted excitement over their MMK project. Robin shared, “MMK is known for featuring real heartwarming stories of real people, that’s why it’s an honor for me to do an episode that carries a quality story with an amazing cast and high-caliber director.”

Vina, on the other hand, shared, “It’s been a while since we’ve done a project together and fans have been waiting for something like this to happen. I’m happy that even after a long time and now that we’re living our separate lives, we still have that on-screen chemistry that our fans loved.”

Unlike their films which are mostly action-packed, Robin and Vina’s MMK episode is a family drama.

Meanwhile, despite admitting that he personally requested for Vina to be his partner, Robin stressed that they worked on the episode as professional actors. “I wanted to work with Vina because I believe that the character fits her. Unlike before that I have to be really in-love with her to show that I love her on-screen, now the intensity of acting is different. I rely on my own emotions in the dramatic scenes.”

ABS-CBN.com visited Angel Locsin and Jake Cuenca last January 21 on the set of the Valentine episode of Maalala Mo Kaya where the two will be pairing up for the first time. Angel will be playing an accidental mistress in her third MMK appearance. “It’s different talaga. Medyo strong kasi yung character niya and eto yung character na kadalasan hindi naiintindihan. Kumbaga bago tayo manghusga ng tao, tignan muna natin kung ano ba talaga yung sitwasyon. Kasi ang role ko dito isa akong mistress, tapos naniniwala kasi ako sa pamilya, sa kasal, kaya isa-sacrifice ko yung sarili kong kaligayahan para ‘di ako makasira ng pamilya,” she began.

Piolo Pascual gears up for new projects this 2010!

Piolo Pascual’s first project for 2010 is the special two-part presentation ofMaalaala Mo Kaya where he will be playing the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Piolo during his taping for MMK and he talked about the transformation he went through to look like Ninoy. “In Lovers in Paris, my hair was really short. After ng show hindi muna ako nagpagupit. Hindi muna rin ako nag-shave. When I showed up for the meeting para dito sa MMK, dun na na-plan ‘yung magiging look ko as Ninoy. Mahirap ang magiging look ko dito kasi ang story magspa-span from 17 years old si Ninoy hanggang 50. Basically, canvas lang ako. I trust the production team kung paano iibahin ‘yung look ko. They know better on how I should look. Sa akin na lang ‘yung acting part. Of course with Direk Jeffrey Jeturian na nakatrabaho ko rin sa Lovers, I’m sure magagabayan niya ako nang husto.”

Bea Alonzo plays Cory Aquino in a special episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya!

Bea Alonzo takes on her most challenging role to date, playing the late President Corazon Aquino for a two-part special presentation of Maalaala Mo Kaya. ABS-CBN.com interviewed Bea on the set of MMK where she revealed that this project is enabling her to learn a lot about the lives of Cory and her martyred husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. “When I read the script,sobra akong nagandahan sa storynila. Ang dami kong natutunan na hindi ko alam dati. Mas lalo akong naging passionate na mag-researchpa tungkol sa buhay nila. Hindi pa kasi ako buhay nung panahon na mapatay si Ninoy. Ang naiisip ko na lang ngayon e makakaranas din kaya ako ng matinding pagmamahal na kagaya ng sa kanila.”

Robi Domingo is determined to stay in showbiz for a long time!

After his last acting project in Your Song Presents Boystown, Robi Domingo will play the younger brother of Gerald Anderson in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. But while waiting for his next project, Robi keeps himself busy as a VJ for MYX music channel and as a mainstay of ASAP ‘09 every Sunday with the Star Magic dance group Gigger Boys. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Robi said that he is not worried that he has no regular acting project at the moment. “Hindi naman ako masyadong worried sa ngayon na wala akong regular show. I’m still studying (he’s taking up Health and Science at the Ateneo De Manila University) sohabang walang taping pag-aaral muna ang pinagtutuunan ko ng pansin. Gerald Anderson to portray a teenager with Tourette Syndrome in Maalaala Mo Kaya!

Perfect choice si Gerald Anderson para gumanap sa isang mapaghamong role sa isang espesyal na episode ng Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) sa ABS-CBN.
