Diether Ocampo mentioned to ABS-CBN.com that he just started doing an indie film called Slow Faith for Cinemabuhay, the company which also produced Cul de Sac that was headlined by Sam Milby. The story revolves around the monotonous life of a frustrated director who ends up working in a small-time editing house. Just when things are about to be getting better for him, he gets diagnosed with brain cancer. That way marerealize niya yung true worth niya as a person,” he began.
When asked what made him accept the project, Diether shared that he was simply challenged to portray a role that would make people stop and think about the real meaning of success and happiness. So this is one good film that you should see kasi it really reflects the struggles of ordinary people. I look at it as a positive project kasi kahit ganon sitwasyon ng character, he was able to tell a story na siguradong magbibigay inspirasyon sa ating lahat.”
Though Diether is also busy taping for the teleserye Rubi, he explained that he really wanted to help boost the indie scene. It takes someone who has a genuine concern talaga tulad nila Albert kasi sila yung mga masisipag gumawa ng makabuluhang proyekto na sa tingin nila in the future would benefit the next generation of aspiring artists. At the same time it’s a different experience for me as an actor,” he added.
Diether revealed that he plans to donate his talent fee in this movie to his non-profit charity organization which he still actively supervises. It’s more meaningful for me kasi parang hitting two birds with one stone.
