Contrary to widespread speculations, Gretchen Barretto’s relationship with long time partner businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco is still going strong.
Gretchen ditched last year’s split rumors about them in her latest interview aired on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Feb. 2.
“We’re so together now more than ever,” she quipped.
She also admitted life is a lot rosier now with Tonyboy around. The businessman sort of courted her again and eventually won her heart.
“I remember Tony saying, ‘I’m gonna make you fall in love with me again.’ And I said, ‘Yeah right, whatever.’ Magaling siya,” she said, laughing.
For Gretchen, boredom was just a phase in her life last year, which she overwhelmingly won against.
“There was a time in my life na naging bored na ako and all. Now, I’m content,” she said.
The actress is now an exclusive Kapamilya star. She excitedly announced this in her SNN interview.
“They’re giving me a very good project, a very big project. Siyempre, exclusive na ako,” she said.
The project she was referring to is a soap tentatively titled “’Til My Heartaches End,” from an Ella May Saison original song.
“Magkasama kami ni Bea Alonzo [sa soap]. Kapatid ko siya. And then magkakaroon kami ng love triangle ni Derek (Ramsay),” she shared.
Last year, ABS-CBN had already been announcing a Gretchen Barretto soap with her sister Claudine Barretto. However, the Kapamilya network had to forego this planned casting coup after Claudine transferred to rival network GMA-7 and signed up an exclusive contract with them.
“’Til My Heartaches End” marks Gretchen's return to television after an absence of so many years. Her last TV outing was a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” starrer, which won for her Best Single Performance by An Actress at the 23rd Star Awards For Television.
She tied with Sunshine Dizon who won for her performance in “Cinemaserye: SRO Presents.”
