Hunk actor Derek Ramsay has quashed two contrasting speculations that involve him and his girlfriend of three years, Angelica Panganiban.
One rumor goes that he and Angelica have parted ways as Derek was seen at the airport recently without her.
However, as Derek explained on "Showbiz News Ngayon," July 7: "Sabay kaming bumalik ni Angel. I don’t know where they’re getting that from. We’re all in the same flight, the whole group. Wala kaming iwanan. Si Angel is in the country lang for six hours because she had to leave. There’s no truth to the break up.”
The actor elaborated on why his girlfriend could only stay a few hours in the country after they arrived from South Africa.
“I think she just left Ireland on the way to Scotland. She’s on a tour. Meron silang show doon. I think kasama niya sina John Lloyd and she will be out for a week and a half.”
The other rumor states that Derek and Angelica have secretly tied the knot while on a month’s vacation in South Africa.
“You know, that’s what they said but it’s not easy to do something like marriage in a foreign country. We have different citizenships. There’s no truth to that,” he said.
And no, Derek didn’t propose to Angelica in South Africa.
“There was no plan for a marriage proposal. We didn’t actually talk about that. ‘Yun ang magandang nangyari sa amin (sa South Africa), hindi kami naging mechanical. We just enjoyed.”
Derek admits having discussed with Angelica their future as a couple but their talk on the matter wasn’t that serious, let alone to include marriage plans.
“We dwell on the subject. We did. We talked about if magka-baby tayo ano kaya ang hitsura? Things like that. But you know, there’s no truth to the rumor na nagpakasal na kami. We just really enjoyed. Bumawi talaga kami sa mga oras na hindi kami nagkikita noong bago kami umalis,” he said.
