Kris Aquino is leaving the country, but…!

Those who seriously want Kris Aquino to leave the country can celebrate… but not for long.

The Queen of All Media is, indeed, leaving the Philippines, though only for a long-overdue vacation with her kids, an entertainment website reported on May 13.

“I am leaving for a Disney vacation abroad w/ my kids but after ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ & my obligation to ‘KTM’ (‘Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo’) finishes. I will be gone for at least 3 weeks then to give my kids the vacation we postponed last year because of mom's (late Pres. Cory Aquino) deteriorating health. I will be back on ‘SNN’ (‘Showbiz News Ngayon’) on Monday, May 17,” Kris said in a text message sent on the same day.

This is in response to a growing Facebook fan page called “Kris Aquino’s Despedida,” which was inspired by a “promise” Kris declared on national TV when her presidential brother and current poll leader, Noynoy Aquino, got dragged in the middle of her controversial tiff with former “The Buzz” co-host Ruffa Gutierrez two months ago.

"Sinabi ko nga kay Noynoy, ‘O Noy kung makakasira ako sa’yo in case presidente ka na dahil baka naman pati sa Malacañang week after week may issue dahil sa’kin, don’t worry, mag-a-abroad ako at magtatrabaho sa TFC (The Filipino Channel) office abroad.’ At ang sabi ni Noy sa’kin nung gabi, ‘Pinagpapraktisan mo ba ako ng teleserye mo? Nag-di-dinner lang tayo ha’,” Kris said on “TV Patrol World” last March.

Intrigue-magnet and headline-hogging Kris became even more controversial during the campaign as she was perceived as a “liability” for her brother's candidacy. It was “a nonstop assault on me as a person, a mother & a sister,” she says. Even so, the host-actress believes “they didn't succeed then & w/ the love & support of my sisters & my brother they won't succeed now."

Interestingly, while the sensational online page (with 9,000 plus members joining the party as of this writing) is being flooded by the minute with debates contextualizing Kris’ statement, as well as fervent expressions of approval and disapproval over her possible self-imposed “departure,” brainchild Czarina Maye Mariano said it was simply “created purely out of fun.”

“I have nothing against Kris Aquino. Let's all move on shall we? This is just a page. Get over [it],” she wrote on the profile page.

In other Kris-related news, the garrulous celebrity admitted on “TV Patrol” on May 13 that she is not ready to be a First Lady to her close-to-winning brother.

“Una kapag ikaw ang nangangampanya at ikaw ang nahalal, alipin ka na ng tao at lahat ng pinagsisilbihan mo. At hindi pa ko handang maging alipin,” she said.

The report, however, noted that it is quite inevitable that Kris will assume a “ceremonial role” ala First Lady to Noynoy, who is yet to tie the knot with girlfriend Shalani Soledad, a councilor in Valenzuela City.

In a separate interview with the Liberal Party standard bearer, he quipped, “Kris, I think, claims that she will have no role in my administration.”

Well, the world will be watching.
