Ai-Ai de las Alas on Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao: ‘Siya ang susunod na Comedy Queen’!

“Sabi ko siya na ang susunod na Comedy Queen,” was what Ai-Ai de las Alas said about her Ang Tanging Pamilya co-star Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao. Ai-Ai added that there is no reason for her to feel insecure about Mommy Dionisia. “Hinayaan ko siyang mag-shine kasi kumbaga first time niyang mag-movie.

She admitted that they had to exert extra effort to adjust to Mommy Dionisia since the movie is her first venture into acting.

The actress said that one funny scene in the movie is her dance showdown with Mommy Dionisia. “’Yung dance number namin kasi binuhat siya sa singkil (areas under the armpits). Siya ‘yung taong nakakatawa pero para namang hindi niya nararamdaman na nakakatwa siya, so ginagawa niya ‘yun ng seryoso so nakakatawa siya.”

Ai-Ai thinks that Ang Tanging Pamilya is her funniest movie yet because compared to her previous films, this is the one that has the most funny scenes. Ai-Ai also recalled having sent Direk Wenn a text message congratulating him even before the film’s showing, “Kasi sobrang nakakatawa ‘yung pelikula.

Another factor which made this movie memorable for Ai-Ai is the tragedy that befell the technical staff who were onboard the MV SuperFerry 9 which sank last July and resulted in the death of one camera man. The movie also failed to reach its initial target play date because of Typhoon Ondoy and the death of Direk Wenn’s mother. So sana ganun ang mangyari.”

Since the opening of the movie coincides with her birthday, Ai-Ai’s birthday wish aside from good health for her and her family, is for the country to be spared from calamities. Ang Tanging Pamilya also stars former president Joseph Estrada, Toni Gonzaga, and Sam Milby and will hit the theaters on November 11.
