Matt Evans clears up rumors about Melissa Ricks and Jake Cuenca!

Matt Evans has been Melissa Rick’s onscreen partner ever since he finished his stint as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition years ago. The two have become good friends and have worked together on several TV shows and a couple of movies. Since he is almost with Melissa 24/7, Matt was asked about the rumors that Jake Cuenca used to visit Melissa on the set of Kambal Sa Uma, something Matt was quick to deny. “Hindi ko pa nabubuking. Kapag nabuking ko sasabihin ko sa inyo,” he began. “Hindi sa pinagtatakpan ko siya. Actually wala siyang nasasabi sa akin. Kasi kung nag-oopen up man siya, pahapyaw-hapyaw lang. Ayokong magtanong kasi hindi naman ako maurirat,” he added with a laugh.




Matt could have easily courted Melissa because he has the advantage of being her ka-love team, but he has never attempted to do so for fear that it would only complicate things at work. “Hindi ko naisip na magselos kay Jake kasi kaibigan naman namin yun. Tsaka kung magseselos ako sana dati pa. On my part, hindi ko naman itinuturing na sagabal ang pakikipagrelasyon sa katrabaho. Ang sa akin lang, hindi mo maiwasan na kapag nagkaalitan kayo, siyempre ayoko madamay ang trabaho,” he explained.

Getting into a relationship is not something he wants right now because aside from being the breadwinner in the family, he also has other priorities like learning a new hobby and saving up for a house of his own. “Pangarap ko noon pa na magkaroon ng sariling bahay kapag nag-21 years old ako. Kahit hindi muna yung dream house ko. Well, may sarili naman kaming bahay pero yung house na tinitirihan ko ngayon nirerent ko. Siyempre iba pa rin yung may sarili kang bahay. Hopefully next year masimulan ko na.” Matt turned 23 last October 22.

The young actor further shared that if things go as planned, he will be part of one of the biggest teleseryes ABS-CBN has in store for viewers next year. “May naka-line up po ako na project. Magsisimula kami magtaping by the second week of November. Pero confidential at hindi pa final yung details. Excited ako kasi kung saka-sakali isa ito sa mga biggest break na nakasama ako. Very interesting yung concept ng story at powerhouse cast talaga so sana matuloy,” he happily exclaimed.

For now, Matt keeps himself busy with out of town shows while Melissa is working on the new Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Sr series opposite Jolo Revilla. “Nagkaroon naman kami ng break ngayon. Iba muna ang makakapartner niya. Sa akin hindi ko pa alam kung mapepair ako sa iba. Sa ngayon puro raket-raket muna.” But given a chance, he would like to work with Maja Salvador who’s also one of his good friends in showbiz. “Sobrang naging close ko si Maja nung nagkasama kami sa Pedro Penduko at Ang Mga Engkantao. Tapos kami-kami din ang magkakasama sa ASAP dressing room so alam kong super kulitan yan kapag nagkatrabaho kami ulit,” he beamed.
