Bea Alonzo says her showbiz friends call her ‘Lola Bey’!

Bea Alonzo’s refusal to accept the Blackberry phone Sam Milby was giving her brought about several issues regarding her friendship with the actor. ABS-CBN.com’s previous reports detailed Sam’s reactions regarding the matter and the actor said that he really wanted to give the phone away because nobody is using it. He also shared he wanted to give it away because all his showbiz friends are already using a Blackberry except for Bea.



In another interview, Bea admitted that she indeed refused the gift. Aside from the fact that she does not want to receive expensive gifts from guys whom she is not committed to at all, she is just not into high-tech gadgets. “E, kasi hindi naman ako ‘techie’, masasayang lang ‘yun. Hindi kotype ‘yung mga ganun. Kaya hindi ko talaga tinanggap,” Bea explained.

Aside from not being updated when it comes to the latest gadgets, Bea also said that she is also not the type who goes out to party. On days she doesn’t have work, she would rather stay home and rest. “Hindi rin ako gumigimik. Hindi talaga ako lumalabas. Mas gusto ko sa bahay lang.” Because of this, her showbiz friends call her a name. “Lahat sila ‘Lola Bey’ ang tawag sa akin. Lola Bey kasi hindi nga ako techie, then hindi ako mahilig umalis. Pumupunta na lang sila sa bahay tapos dun na lang kami nag s-spend ng time.Tingin nila manang ako,” Bea said while laughing.

Meanwhile, Bea told ABS-CBN.com that she and John Lloyd Cruz are all set for the shooting of their new movie under Star Cinema. She has always looked forward to working with John Lloyd again. “I’m so excited. And lagi talaga may pressure, hindi talaga nawawala ‘yun. Pero above all masaya talaga kasi workshops na naman and andami ko na namang matututunan siyempre under Direk Cathy Garcia ‘yung movie tsaka siJohn Lloyd ‘yung kasama ko. Kakaiba talaga ‘yung story.”
