Wendy Valdez admits she and Bruce Quebral are married!

Actress Wendy Valdez finally confirmed on The Buzz yesterday the persistent rumors that she and boyfriend Bruce Quebral have been married last March 2009. She also revealed her reason for keeping the union a secret all this time. "Wala naman kaming balak itago forever," Wendy began. "Parang masakit lang sa amin kasi hindi alam ng mga magulang namin. Basically ayaw talaga ng mom ko na mag-asawa ko. At saka hindi lingid sa kaalaman ng lahat, pareho kaming breadwinner (ni Bruce). Nagkakaroon kami ng problema (at) ayaw naman namin na du'n mapunta 'yung blame sa pagpapakasal namin."



Wendy reasoned out that she didn't want to publicly admit to the wedding before informing her mom. "Kinukuha namin ang tamang timing kung paano sasabihin at kailan. So gusto namin talaga sa mga magulang namin, sa mga taong malalapit sa amin, dun muna sana." But her mom eventually found out about it when she saw the marriage certificate, and like Wendy predicted, it came as a blow to her.

Wendy shared that keeping a long distance relationship proved to be a challenge to her and Bruce, when the latter left for Dubai to be a flight attendant last year. "Almost every night nag-uusap kami, nag-iiyakan kami. Hirap na hirap kami. Wala kaming makitang paraan kung paano kami magkikita. The only way is kapag nagpakasal kami, makakapunta ako do'n back and forth, so nag-rush kami doon," she explained. However, six months after their wedding, the actress admitted that she and Bruce are now thinking of filing an annulment due to many misunderstandings. Wendy added that a few days before their wedding day, she felt reluctant to go on with the marriage. "Kasi feeling ko hindi pa talaga ako ready. Pakiramdam ko hindi pa ko mature," she confessed. But she brushed off the doubts and told herself that she and Bruce would do fine since they love each other. "Sabi ko naman ano naman ang ida-doubt ko mahal ko naman ang taong 'to. Kaya sigurong bunuin ng pagmamahal namin kung ano 'yung dumating sa amin kahit anong problema. Kaya lang alam mo 'yung reyalidad ng buhay na after naming ikasal parang dun na nag-sink in 'yung reality, na ang buhay ay hindi isang fairy tale na 'pag naghalikan 'yung mga bida parang happily ever after na. Isa-isa nang nagdadatingan 'yung mga problema. Mas okay pa kami nung hindi pa kami," Wendy explained.

She also denied that the reason for their drifting apart was because the actress was having an affair with model-actor Will Devaughn, who became Wendy's leading man in a previous season of Precious Hearts Romances. "Sobrang nahihiya po ako na nadadamay siya sa isyung ito. Kung anuman 'yung kagulungan namin ayoko na pong mandamay ng ibang tao. Sa amin pong dalawa ni Bruce ito," she clarified.

Wendy also said that she learned an important lesson from her relationship with Bruce, even if they are now faced with a difficult situation. "Siguro kailangan lang talaga muna naming mag-grow. Personally, ako napaka-immature ko pa. Sana maging aral sa mga bagets. Pag-isipan n'yo munang maigi (bago magpakasal) 10,000 times, one million times n'yo pong pag-isipan. Makinig kayo sa mga magulang n'yo. Alam na alam ko na po ang lahat ng pagkakamali ko. Inaamin ko po 'yan."
