Bayani Agbayani gets his own show to compete with 'Showtime'!

It could be the local network equivalent of the biblical clash between David and Goliath—and it seems it will push through after all.

Bayani Agbayani confirmed that plans for his daily game show on GMA are now on full throttle and will finally air on Feb. 8.

It will compete head on with ABS-CBN’s already top-rating "Showtime."

“Nagda-dry run na kami. May title na at kompleto na ‘yong cast. Sa original cast ako lang ang naiwan at sinamahan ako ng mga bago,” the comedian shared during a recent media huddle.

The comedian lauds GMA’s initiative for him.

Bayani admitted he left ABS-CBN for lack of work.

He also admitted he once quarreled with TV host Willie Revillame but maintained that it was not what made him want to sever ties with the Kapamilya network.

He stressed that he wants to grow old with the Kapuso network.

Bayani admits that he’s facing a gargantuan task, especially in that the new show's ratings lie solely on his shoulders.

The comedian was the only one retained in the original cast that included Manny Pacquiao and Mommy Dionesia, then Gelli de Belen, and Carmina Villaroel.

The game show is a co-production venture between GMA-7 and TAPE, Inc., the producer of "Eat Bulaga."

Asked how he feel about competing with "It's Showtime," Bayani admitted to a bit of apprehension.

As to what to expect from the show, he confirms that it is simply a platform to showcase fresh talent but with a twist.

“Actually, 'yon ang trend ngayon, eh. Pero maraming mga idinagdag sa show na hindi napapanood sa ibang show.”

On a related note, Bayani is also appearing in "First Time," a romantic drama starring Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionesio, and Jhake Vargas, where he willplay a school teacher.
