James McAvoy on shooting sex scene: "You don’t want to make that person feel like they’re being abused, or that you’re enjoying yourself."!

Scottish actor James McAvoy  who has done love scenes with  A-list actresses like Angelina Jolie and Rosario Dawson, and even his wife finds it hard to do.

McAvoy met his wife, Anne-Marie Duff while shooting UK TV show Shameless, where their characters were also in a relationship. Despite their off-set romance, James insists their intimate scenes were incredibly uncomfortable.

This is what he revealed about his awkwardness in doing sex scene :

"Even with my wife it was awkward. We weren’t together yet. I fancied her, but you don’t want to make that person feel like they’re being abused, or that you’re enjoying yourself."

On making love scene believable:

"It’s usually so uncomfortable that it’s more about making it look like you’re really going for this person while convincing the person that you’re not having a good time, while at the same time not making them feel like you’re saying, ‘Don’t worry, I’m not enjoying it, because you’re f**king stinking."

And he added:

"It’s treacherous ground, and you can overstep the mark."
