Today, October 26, Sen. Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez's dreams will finally come to reality as they say their 'I do's' at Sto. Domingo Church, Quezon City. The church will be dressed in white as it is decorated with Korina's favorite flowers such as rosal, white roses, and sampaguita. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and UP Madrigal singers will be the choir and talented singers like Basil Valdez and Robert Cena will perform song numbers.
Sen. Mar and Korina scrapped their first plan of an extravagant wedding after the typhoon disasters early this month and just opted to have a simple celebration. Supposedly part of the extravagant plan was the three million peso reception at the Araneta Center, which was to be attented by 10,000 people. But Mar and Korina decided to just donate the large amount of money to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. In exchange to the previous plan, a big tent is put up outside the church for their supporters and they will be provided with refreshments such as juice and pandesal with kesong puti filling.
According to the wedding organizers, the red carpet where the bride will walk on extends several meters outside the church so the people outside will get to have a glance on Korina as she walks down the isle. “Maglalagay din ng red carpet sa labas ng simbahan kung saan magsisimulang maglakad ang bride kung gaano kahaba 'yung lalakaran sa loob, ganun din kahaba 'yung lalakaran sa labas so kitang kita talaga ng lahat para silang dumalo sa loob. After the mass lalabasin talaga sila ng couple at pupuntahan para di naman masasayang ang pagpunta nila.”
In addition, the wedding organizers will be strict when it comes to guests and media people's entry inside the church. Since the church cannot accommodate a huge crowd, they have provided four large video screens outside so that people will be able to witness the ceremonies inside.
