Xian Lim insists that he and Erich Gonzales are just friends!

In spite of their constant denials about their rumored romance, people still believe that there’s something going on between Xian Lim and Erich Gonzales. Even Kris Aquino noticed their closeness during one of Sagip Kapamilya’s relief operations. The very observant SNN host saw how Xian held Erich’s water bottle while she drank from it, when she can very well do without his help. But the young actor insisted that it was just a courteous gesture on his part. “No naman. Busy kasi si Erich nun magpass ng goods and super init kasi nakaexpose talaga kami sa initan. Nasa Nangka, Marikina kami at that time. Busing-busy talaga, lahat ng tao in a rush. So I’m trying to be a gentleman lang. Inofferan ko siya ng tubig and tinulungan ko lang siyang uminom,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN.com.

Xian further shared that they’re not hiding anything from the public. Though he used to be very vocal about his feelings for Erich to the local media, he clarified that they’ve decided that work comes first before anything else. “Yes totoo namang niligawan ko siya dati. And sinasabi ko naman po kay Erich na I’m just showing her how I feel. But we both have an agreement na work po muna.” When asked how long is he willing to wait for Erich to be ready for a commitment, he sincerely answered, “Hanggang kahit kailan naman po. Kasi ngayon naman focus muna kami sa show and sa work namin. Worth it naman yung naging desisyon namin dahil kitang-kita ang suporta ng tao ngayon sa Katorse.”

As for those who believe that their sweetness to each other is merely fabricated, Xian pointed out that he and Erich are not even a love team for them to pretend for the sake of their supporters. “Ay wala po. Bakit naman po kami magpapanggap? Actually sa mga scenes namin sa Katorse, wala kaming masyadong sweet moments and we’re currently just friends in the story. So I wouldn’t consider us a love team,” he added.

At the same time, Xian defended Erich from her critics who claim that she shows way too much skin in Katorse. “Hindi naman masyado nakafocus ang Katorse sa pagiging sexy. I think it’s more on moral values. It shows the consequences of teenagers’ irresponsible actions. Yun po ang mensahe ng show. And we’re glad na most of the viewers realize that kasi we can see that Katorse is enjoying high ratings since day one. Kaya nagpapasalamat po kami sa lahat ng tao. On our end naman, super pursigido din kami to make it work talaga.”
