“I hope lahat, lahat ng ito mapag-usapan, maayos. Hayaan natin munang lumamig ang mga bagay, bagay,” Santos said.
She added: “I’m here to be her friend. I’m here to make her laugh hangga’t maaari.”
According to tabloid reports, Tamayo and her businessman husband, Johnny Wong, are allegedly hiding in Canada because they cannot settle their debts here. A tabloid report also claimed that a warrant for her arrest has already been issued, but this information has yet to be verified.
Santos was caught off guard when told about the rumors. Santos, who was visibly surprised, said she and Tamayo still talk to each other, but they don't discuss the issues.
“Hindi ko na din in-o-open kasi ayokong kalkalin ang mga nangyari sa kanya,” she said. “Hinahayaan na lang namin ang mga taong magsalita ng kung anuman kasi hindi naman talaga nila alam kung ano ang sitwasyon.”
Santos and Tamayo have been friends since they were still small, according to “The Buzz.”
Earlier this year, “The Buzz” host Ruffa Gutierrez confirmed that Tamayo was “having family problems.” Gutierrez said Tamayo purportedly could no longer work because of these problems.
Gutierrez’s confirmation came amid speculations about Tamayo and Wong's alleged separation in December 2008.
Tamayo is the former talent of Gutierrez’s mom, Annabelle Rama.
