Rosanna Roces discloses engagement to lawyer fiancé!

Rosanna Roces returns to the independent filmmaking scene with good news regarding her engagement to a lawyer.

In the grand presscon of Cinema One Originals held yesterday, October 27, Rosanna recalled that she was undergoing a personal problem while she was shooting for the Cinema One Originals film Wanted: Border.

"Noong nasa Iloilo ako, nagkahiwalay kami [her boyfriend]. Parang cool-off kami habang nagsu-shooting ako [for Wanted: Border].

"Then nag-text siya na, 'Hey, today is the 15th of the month, it's our anniversary and I'm enjoying the day alone.' So sabi ko, 'Wanna go out?'

Osang (Rosanna's nickname) refused to reveal the complete name of the guy, but simply referred to him as Atty. R.B. The actress said that he is 40 years old, three years older than her.

They are planning to get married when the declaration of nullity of marriage is finally given to Osang.

"It's null and void. It's a bigamous marriage. Kasal siya sa iba," says Osang about her ex-husband Tito Molina.

The 37-year-old actress says that she wants to settle down with her fiancé, who hails from Malolos, Bulacan.

"I'm in the stage wherein malalaki na ang mga anak mo. Sometimes, you have to stop worrying and take care of yourself. First time akong nakatagpo ng hindi ako pangalawa, pangatlo, pang-apat.

Osang goes on to share the qualities that she likes about her fiancé.

"He's a Christian at napaka-prinsipyadong tao. He doesn't stay in the house. They were rooting for this guy," says Osang with a smile.

How did they meet?

"Through a basketball player. Hindi natuloy ang blind date namin kasi nagsu-shooting kami noon ng Baklas [indie film that she starred in and co-directed with Neal Tan]. It was supposed to be his birthday, July 2, pero hindi ako nakarating. So ni-reset ang date namin at nag-click agad kami. It was love at first sight."

She reveals that they have been a couple since July 15, 2008. What did she like most about him?

"Tall, dark and handsome. And he loves his mother so much.

When do they plan to get married?

Does she see herself settling down with Atty?

"God willing. Oo, ito na sana. Ayoko nang mag-try ng iba. Nakakapagod.

But if there's one concern in her mind right now, it would be making her children accept the fact that she still wants to have two more babies in the future.

Wala pa tayong alam, I was sixteen. Sinundan ng bunga na katangahan, inulit. Yun talagang out of love, wala pa talaga."

To really make a fresh new start, the couple want to move into a new house when they get married.

"I'm planning to sell the house and settle kasi nga doon kami nagsama ni Tito. He wouldn't like that. Sabi niya, 'Ako ang bibili.'"

Right now, Osang is filled with happiness for her newfound love. "Feeling ko ngayon, feeling of completeness and security.

But she recalls the time when she felt very sad, especially during the holidays. Pero tapos na yun, I wish him [Tito] all the best. You have to move on and forget about the past," she said.

WANTED: BORDEROsang plays a religious fanatic named Aling Saleng in the indie film titled Wanted: Border. She owns a boarding house where the tenants are disappearing one by one. She also runs an eatery that might hold the key to the mysterious disappearances. Directed by Ray Gibraltar, this dark comedy will be screened at Gateway Mall from November 13-17.
